The FIP has published their FMP. With this new stage 4 result reported, the FIP becomes A rated.

3. FIP Implementation	Jan 24	FIP activities undertaken 29 January 2024 — The roll-out of I-VMS devices restarted for both >6m and <6m vessels in October 2023. As of December 2023, the roll-out program closed and over 80% of the English <12m inshore fleet purchased a device. 1 November 2023 — The Steering Group has provided feedback to the Defra-led consultation on the proposed FMP. 17 July 2023 — The FIP participated in the virtual Channel Scallop Steering Group Meeting; an update of the MMO timeline was shared at the meeting and the results from the latest stock assessment were discussed. 10 May 2023 — Prior to their annual meeting, a memo was created and circulated among the Project UK Steering Group Committee to provide them with the latest updates on the FIP's current status. 1 April 2023 — Several events centered around FMP consultations have been arranged throughout the UK and progress remains underway. 1 April 2023 — Technical work is being conducted on the clean catch app to reestablish pilot groups following unsuccessful prior testing due to technical issues. In case the clean catch app persists with errors, the FIP has identified a potential alternative app, MoFI. 1 March 2023 — The annual stock assessment report for 2021-2022 has been published 1 November 2022 — The Joint Fisheries Statement is finalized and is awaiting publication 9 September 2022 — UK Channel Steering Committee Group held; the group discussed the review of the FMP. 1 May 2022 — SICG submitted management proposals to Defra and UK fisheries administrators; proposals are currently out for consultation. 8 March 2022 — Project UK channel scallop steering committee meeting held; SIGC has formed a FMP co-management working group 1 March 2022 — Fifth annual stock assessment report for 2020-2021 has been published 1 November 2021 — A report detailing the reivew of alternate measures that minimize unwanted catch mortality in the fishery has been made available. 13 October 2021 — Project UK steering committee meeting held in October 2021; the committee is in the process of comparing the Clean Catch App and the ETP species interaction log before committing to one. 17 August 2021 — Catch composition analysis has been completed for the FIP. Information on primary, secondary, ETP and minor species caught in the fishery is now available. 19 July 2021 — Defra put out a call for management proposals for the <15m scallop fleet to address latent capacity in the shellfish sector in England and to replace the Western Waters regime 22 June 2021 — Project UK steering committee meeting held in June 2021; the committee reviewed the timeline for finishing the FMP.
